Pastoral Council and Committees

 

Pastoral Council:

The Pastoral Council is a consultative body of the parish community for the definition of mission and goals, for setting priorities, for the determination of policies and for the implementation of parish programs. The Council consists of selected members and two elected trustees, as well as one representative from each of the following: Worship, Christian Concerns, Stewardship, Activities Committees and Financial Council. The Pastor and Deacon are ex-officio members. The Council meets monthly and parishioners are welcome at all meetings.

Worship Committee:

This committee shares with the priest the responsibility of providing good liturgical celebrations. It does this by establishing, developing, and implementing programs aimed at meeting the spiritual needs of the parish, the family, the individual, and the community. Chairpersons: Dawn Suslick and Sandy Manel

Christian Concerns Committee:

The Christian Concerns Committe involves various kinds of social outreach, including Right to Life, Christmas Giving Tree, Lenten Food Collections, Norbertine Peruvian Missions, Brown County Mental Health Center, Young Mothers and Babies collection, Back to School collection, work at local food pantries, as well as other forms of Christian outreach.

Activities Committee:

The primary responsibility of this commitee is to build a maintain a sense of community amoung the parishioners. They co-ordinate social, recreational and fund raising activities.

Finance Council:

It is the responsibility of this Council to familiarize itself with the corporate structure of the parish. It works in the administration of the parish resources of contributions, personnel, fund raising, properties, parish investments, cemetery, and insurance programs. It is responsible for preparing an annual budget and evaluating its implementation. This Council is responsible for the physcial condition of the parish properties. It recommends repairs, proper upkeep, improvements and implements those recommendations.

The Council is comprised of the Pastor, Trustees, eight at-large appointed members. The Council meets every other month.
