** If the rest of the school has a half day of school; afternoon preschool is still held.

Typical Day - “A key factor in the Pre-School Program is learning through socialization and the celebration of small accomplishments”.

  • Free Choice / Free Play
  • Clean Up Time
  • Group Time / Music
  • (The 4 year old program includes discussions on the calendar, sing the “Days of the Week” song, learn a count down of numbers and have discussions on patterns).
  • Snack time which includes a Prayer/Group Thank You to the snack person
  • Story Time
  • Art Project or Learning Project
  • Gym (one time per week for the 4 year old program)

Enrollment and Tuition
Children who will be three years old by September 1st of the school year may enroll in the two-day (Tuesday, Thursday) morning session. If there are enough parents interested in a two-day afternoon session for three year olds, we will offer that option.

Children who will be four years old by September 1st of the school year may enroll in the three-day (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) morning or afternoon session.

All children entering the preschool MUST be toilet trained.

2010-2011 tuition is $475/semester for the three-day sessions and $375/semester for the two-day session.

Field Trips
The opportunity for children to participate in field trips gives the children an excellent opportunity for them to explore and learn new things. Some of the places that are visited include:

  • Koltz’s Farm
  • Wildlife Sanctuary
  • Butterfly Books - De Pere Library
  • Weidner Center
  • Apple Valley Orchard
  • Diederich Dairy Farm
  • and others

Teachers
Mary Jane Willems and her assistant, Barb Albers, lead the preschool program. Mrs. Willems started teaching Early Childhood I classes in the fall of 1995. She also taught Religious Education classes at Our Lady of Lourdes. Mary Jane also was a substitute aide for Brown County Early Education classes during the 1994-95 school year. Mary Jane has experience with special needs children.

Mrs. Albers has been a volunteer at Our Lady of Lourdes school since 1988. She has been a kindergarten and preschool assistant as well as a library helper. Barb has taken part in early childhood seminars and has enjoyed helping in many different areas of the school. She and her husband have two sons and are members of the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish.
