About Our School

School CrossWelcome to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School website. Please take some time to browse through the information provided and learn more about Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School.

First, let me introduce myself. I am Sue Sands and I have been the Principal at OLOL since 1996. In that time, I have come to realize that this is a GREAT school that offers many educational opportunities to our students and their families.

Now, a little about us. Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School has an enrollment of approximately 215 students in Kindergarten - Grade 8 and 40 students in our Pre-School Program. The school, located at 1305 Lourdes Avenue in De Pere, is part of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Community. The present school facility was built in 1961 as St. Joseph Catholic Grade School. That school was consolidated with St. Boniface Catholic Grade School in 1990 and the name was changed to Marquette School. When St. Boniface and St. Joseph parishes became Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in 1996, the name of the school was changed to the present name.

The educational opportunities at Our Lady of Lourdes School have continued to increase in the past years. Young learners of three and four years of age can enroll in the Preschool that is held on the school grounds. Our School includes a full day Kindergarten program, self contained classrooms for gr. 1-5, and a departmental educational setting for gr. 6-8.  The technology program was expanded in 2000 with the remodeling of the computer lab. Classroom computers networked to the lab were added for the 2001-02 school year. Technology needs continue to be addressed and updated annually. The third phase of the technology plan is progressing with the purchase of more hardware and software. The art, music and world language programs are being more fully developed each school year so that a well-rounded education is offered to students.

Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School has been accredited by the Wisconsin Religious and Independent School Association (WRISA). For more information on this topic please refer to the Accreditation page located on this site.

Our Lady of Lourdes faculty includes 16 full-time teachers and 5 part-time teachers. In addition, the staff includes administrative support people and food service personnel. The average class size is twenty students, but this may be larger or smaller depending on the grade level. Our teachers are certified and licensed by the State of Wisconsin in the areas they teach and are also expected to have religious certification from the Diocese of Green Bay. The teachers are very dedicated to Catholic education and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School.
