Youth Ministry Logo Our Lady of Lourdes Youth Ministry is our response as a Catholic Christian community to the needs of the young people at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in the 6th-12th grades.

What are the Goals of the Youth Ministry Program?

  • To help youth develop a personal relationship with Jesus
  • To help develop the leadership skills of the youth
  • To encourage youth to participate in the Church
  • To help youth to apply their Catholic faith to daily life
  • To encourage youth to develop their personal spirituality and prayer life
  • To help youth to grow in their life skills
  • To encourage youth to share their gifts within and outside of the church community
  • To help youth grow into great people and leaders who are faith-filled, enthusiastic, mature change agents with a good moral compass and who have the ability to face life’s challenges

What are some of the Activities that Students Might Participate in as Part of the Youth Ministry Program?

  • Gathering on a somewhat regular basis to discuss their Catholic faith and how it relates to their own lives in a fun, non-classroom setting
  • Service Activities
  • Retreats – students only, or student/parent
  • Guest Speakers
  • Social Events
  • Mission Trips
  • Ministry to the parents of the youth
  • Youth Mass

Question: When will students gather for Youth Ministry?
Answer: Usually Sunday nights – that seems to work best for most people.

Question: Do I have to attend all of the Youth Ministry events to be involved?
Answer: Absolutely NOT! This program is voluntary – whatever you do have time to attend is great

Question: 6th-12th grade involves a lot of students, how will the students be divided?
Answer: At this time there will be 3 groups – middle school (6-8th grades), junior high (9-10th grades), and senior high (11-12th grades)

Question: This program sounds really cool. I’m not a student, but can I do anything to help?
Answer: You bet! Please contact Carrie Miller and let her know you are interested in helping. As little or as much time as you have is appreciated.
