Youth Ministry is involved in a variety of activities throughout the year. In addition to regular meetings at OLOL school, the group had a cookout and party on the last day of school, went on retreat in northern WI, traveled to Lifest Christian Festival, and helped the Salvation Army with Coats for Kids.
OLOL Youth Ministry Retreat
Both our Senior High Youth Ministry group and Middle School Youth Ministry group took a day to leave De Pere and traveled to the “northwoods†of Minocqua, WI in order to reflect, relax and grow in our relationship with Christ. We enjoyed our time in reflection at a log cabin on the shore of Little Bearskin Lake. Other highlights of the trip included a pontoon boat ride, kayaking, visiting the Northwoods wildlife center as well as Waswangoning Indian Village. The day concluded with an outdoor St. Francis prayer walk and mass at Holy Family Church.
Lifest
Due to the enormous generousity of the KC’s, we were able to attend Lifest Christian Rock Festival in Oshkosh, WI. Here we enjoyed music of all types in praise of God, as well as guest speakers, vendors, games, and food!
Meetings
On a regular basis, we meet go discuss various topics and how they relate to our lives and our faith (we have a little fun too). A sampling of some of those topics have included prayer, graduation/transition, economic and spiritual poorness, Where is God?, parent/student relationships, Advent, Easter, the importance of our faith, and autism.
Net Retreat
The National Evangelization Team, a traveling team of young adult retreat leaders who tour the country, came to OLOL to give a retreat with the theme “Soul Satisfaction†in March. What a beautiful witness they were to our faith and what an impact they made on us!
