All Are Welcome!
Welcome to the website of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family! Our Lady of Lourdes is the parish of West De Pere, that also covers parts of surrounding townships. The parish was established in 1996, when the two parishes of West De Pere, Saint Joseph and Saint Boniface, merged under the name Our Lady of Lourdes. Our Lady of Lourdes has a school connected to the parish as well. In 2011, the school became part of GRACE system, Green Bay Area Catholic Education.
The strengths of our parish and school are our welcoming character and a family atmosphere. Our parish staff, school staff, pastoral council, finance council and trustees work hard to grow even further in these areas. We try to have good relationships with all parishioners and to stay in touch with them on a regular basis.
Through different ministries, we try to connect parishioners with each other and to build a parish as a family. The first pastor, Conrad Cratz, O. Praem., and other founders with him came up with this slogan: All are welcome. That is how we want to be as a parish; welcoming with a family character. At the same time, we respect people’s freedom as they want a looser connection. Our parish also has a tradition of being helpful to charities in town. For example, we participate in De Pere Christian Outreach, Ecumenical Partnership for Housing and we have a Saint Vincent de Paul Council in the parish. Many parishioners work as volunteers for local charities.
Liturgically, we try to be diverse with a broad variety of music and by creating an atmosphere where different age groups feel welcome. Deacon Mike Vander Bloomen and I try to make the scripture readings and gospel message relevant for people of our time and our context.
I hope this website provides the information you are looking for and if you are looking for a parish, you are welcome to visit us and to see if it is a good fit for you!
